How Our Dismantling Process Works

Pricing and Collection:
The price for bus dismantling depends on several factors, such as the current price of metals and the distance from our facility. We always aim to offer a fair and transparent price. Our team will discuss the details of your bus and location, then provide a clear price quote.
Verifying Bus Credentials:
Before proceeding, we will check that all bus credentials are in order. This includes:
- Verifying the logbook to make sure it matches the caller
- Confirming proof of ID and access to the bus
- Verifying the location of the bus to assist with planning the collection

Payment and Collection Arrangement:
Payment is always arranged before the bus is collected. After payment is confirmed, we will schedule a collection. Our team will contact you 24 hours before the scheduled pickup to give an estimated time, along with the driver's details and all the necessary information.
Collecting the Bus:
On the agreed day, our driver will arrive to collect the bus. They will inspect it to ensure it is roadworthy enough for transport. Once confirmed, the bus will be safely loaded for transport to our yard.
Consignment and Waste Transfer Notes:
After the bus is collected, the driver will complete a consignment note and a waste transfer note. These documents are shared with all parties involved, confirming that the bus is no longer the responsibility of the seller and is now in the hands of PVS for recycling and disposal.
Arrival at the Yard and Dismantling Begins:
When the bus arrives at our yard, the dismantling process begins. The bus is first directed to the de-polish bay, where all oils, diesel, and the battery are safely removed. This ensures that hazardous materials are dealt with responsibly.
Stripping and Recycling:
Next, the bus moves to the engine bay, where components are carefully removed. The bus is then directed to the stripping bay, where the outer shell is cut and stripped back. Seats and other internal components are removed, and all usable parts are separated.
Recycling the Materials:
We aim to recycle as much of the bus as possible. Materials are sorted and sent for reuse in various industries, including automotive, construction, and healthcare. This helps to reduce waste and promotes sustainable practices. Any parts that must be discarded are collected weekly by one of the leading waste management companies in the UK to ensure proper disposal.
